About Us.

Holmbury Honey is a small family run set of hives set in the countryside of The South Downs National Park (SDNP). We have been keeping bees since 1978 and started with one hive in the village of Sheet from our first house known as Holmbury. We keep our bees in National Hives, known as single wall hives. We run two strains of bees – Buckfast (Cross Bred by Brother Adam) and Carniolan (Western Honey bee). Both strains of bees are relatively easy to manage and calm when beekeeping duties arise.

At first, the honey was to be consumed by our family and friends, but Holmbury Honey became so popular with people asking for more of  ‘that delicious honey’ … so we added a few more hives.

Our honey

We do not blend our honey and only the nectar brought in by our forager bees is used for honey production.
